Rebirthing-Breathwork is a type of breathwork invented by Leonard Orr. He proposed that correct breathing can cure disease and relieve pain. Orr devised rebirthing therapy in the 1970s after he supposedly re-lived his own birth while in the bath. He claimed that breathing techniques could be used to purge traumatic childhood memories that had been repressed.

Greg found out about Rebirthing for the first time in 1990's when he read couple of books written by Leonard. He tried it for himself with a professional therapist and this helped him to realise the importance of the BREATH. Later he continued to practice the rebirthing technique presented by Orr and investigate further this topic.

Leonard Orr was not the first and not the only person stressing the importance on breath. He developed his particular technique of connected breathing but there were also numerous gurus, masters, spiritual teachers, healers, shamans etc. throughout the history of humanity in all corners of the world basically saying one and the same thing that:

BREATH IS LIFE and WE MUST BE AWARE OF THE BREATH IN EVERY MOMENT.

If everybody would follow this advice from the masters this would be literally completely different world. It would be a BETTER WORLD becasue there would be no more supressed karma at play in our life but instead we would have more joy and love. At the moment the reality is that almost everybody takes breathing for granted and accepts it as an automatic function of the body. It is not so easy to find a person who realises this importance of breath and it is even harder to find somebody who would be able to maintain this awareness for more than 1 minute !!! And thus those who manage to maintain continuous awareness of breath deserve to be called MASTERS.

Greg is still in the process of becoming a master of breath but he has already made a big progress over the period of 20 years. And he is using the technique promoted by Leonard Orr ( as well as other techniques ) in his practice as a therapist.

FAQ


  • SELF RESPONSIBILITY

    Whatever happens in this the Rebirthing session is your responsibility. You decide whether you want to clean your rubbish or continue to keep it longer. We only assist you so that you do not fall asleep. We assist you so that you may feel more comfortable knowing that other person went through a simlar process. If you do not want to take this responsibility and you want to delegate ( blame ) it on the person assisting you, it is a sign that rebirthing is not for you in this moment.


  • HOW TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR REBIRTHING SESSION ?

    Take it easy. Go for a walk in the nature. Take a long shower or bath. Do whatever you want that would help you to relax before the session. Bring some comfortable loose clothes with you. And try not to over eat/drink before.
    NO ALCOHOL
    NO DRUGS
    NO MEDICATIONS
    ( please advice prior to session if you are taking medications prescribed by a doctor )
    NO PAIN KILLERS
    ETC.


  • IS IT DIFFICULT ?

    Technically speaking Connected Breathing is easy and everybody should be able to do it on their own. It is simply breathing in and breathing out without a pause. But from the practical point of view most of the people doing it ( in the first few sessions ) say that it is the hardest thing that they have ever done in their life. Thus it is recommended to do 5-10 sessions with somebody.


  • WHY SHOULD I DO IT WITH SOMEBODY EXPERIENCED WITH REBIRTHING ?

    This breathing activates the body and the mind and it facilitates emotional and energetic cleansing. All that means is that during the sessions of Reberthing people start to face all the rubbish that they collected during their life time - starting from the moment of conception and even before that ( past lives ) until the present moment.
    The rubbish consits of emotional traumas, pains, shocking experiences etc. All of the things which you did not want to ( or you did not know how to ) deal with and solve in the moment when it happened. And so you suppress it and covered it up deep in the subconsciousness mind with many layers so that you do not have to see and feel this painful, shameful etc. experience. But hiding something so that you do not have to see and feel it directly does not mean that it does not affect your life.
    When this things start to come up to the surface during the Rebirthing session the common reaction is that you will want to continue to do what you have been doing your whole life - suppress it. And this tendency to suppress it manifests itself usually in a way that the mind tries to shut down and fall asleep or you will stop breathing. And this is the reason why it is strongly recommended to do it with the assistance of somebody experienced with it.


  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE REBIRTHING ?

    Expectations usually create stress and tension and this is the opposite of what we want to achieve. Basically those who come with high expectations - because they read the book or they heard something from other people who had amazing sessions - usually leave with disappointment. That is why it is best to relax and trust that whatever happens is good for you. Some people need couple of sessions before they start to feel something simply because they have hidden their problems deeper. Their mechanism of control is very strong and and they do not want to let it go so easy.


  • HOW LONG IS THE SESSION ?

    The session lasts usually between 45-90 min. In some particular cases it may take more time.


  • HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED ?

    If you are already experienced with meditation, breathing, energy work and self development then you may go quicker through the whole process and thus you may need less sessions and most probably they would be shorter. Though here there is no guarantee because it all depends what starts coming up to the surface for cleaning. If you are new to this self-body-work then you may need more sessions. Generally we recommend to commit yourself to 10 sessions.


  • ARE THE SESSIONS ALWAYS THE SAME ?

    Each session is unique. The breathing technique is the same ( breathing in and out without the pause ) but what is happening during the session is different and depends on what is coming out to the surface.
    Apart from this we do 7-8 sessions in the studio and 2-3 sessions in the sea where you are would be breathing through the snorkel while floating. And we also try to do 1 session while floating on the back.
    There will be also 1-2 sessions in the studio when you would be completely NAKED while breathing. People generally are very disconnected and ashamed of their bodies and we noticed that doing session in this way helps people to transform this point quicker. You were born into this world without any clothes. So what's happened that now you are ashamed of your body ?


  • WHAT ABOUT HYPERVENTILATION ?

    During Rebirthing it is very common to see people going through the process defined by medicine as Hyperventilation ( you may read about it on Google ). It is rather unpleasant and it can be scary for somebody who never experienced it, but at the same time it can be stopped very quickly and easy with simple tricks. Although it is not recommended as it stops the process and you would go back into suppression mode.
    From the Rebirthing point of view this hyperventilation is the result of either pushing the air out of lungs or blocking its free flow, which is the the result of trauma and resistance to live.
